The ultimate flooring for pet owners? [ Read Responses | Post a New Response | Return to the Index ]
Posted by Margie on Monday, 28 April 2008, at 3:11 a.m. I admire your work and your beautiful home. I wished I could do the same but am looking at older ranch homes here in Oklahoma. I do have a question though. I am a pet lover and have owned ferrets for years. Trouble is, they aren't always the best at hitting the litter box, often preferring instead to go right next to it. I think it is their own version of warped humor. :-) Anyway, how does the stained concrete hold up to stains? Is it possible, do you think, to refinish a portion (say use a cleaner to get rid of stain, then re-etch just a portion)?

This site is all about building a cool, energy efficient house, that makes maximum use of earth sheltered design, passive solar heating and cooling, geothermal exchange energy management, and right sizing of the house for it's designated use. The home's placement is on a south-facing hillside in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This site describes the design process, the technologies used and the expected results. We also have a comprehensive Links Page for anyone who is also interested in designing a similar project. |
