Posted by Yves Chenevert on Monday, 28 April 2008, at 9:58 a.m., BAck in 1981 i have installed a few solar water heater. And with the kit. There was a corrugated stainless steel tank inside a regular stainless tank. The corrugated stainless increase contact area and with expansion and contration reduce deposit on the wall of the tank. Specialy if you have hard water. The hot liquid that heat the tank is on the outside. So you need to have good insulation because your average temperature on the exterior wall of the tank is higher.
This site is all about building a cool, energy efficient house, that makes maximum use of earth sheltered design, passive solar heating and cooling, geothermal exchange energy management, and right sizing of the house for it's designated use. The home's placement is on a south-facing hillside in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This site describes the design process, the technologies used and the expected results. We also have a comprehensive Links Page for anyone who is also interested in designing a similar project. |
