Re: Temp sensors [ Read Responses | Post a New Response | Return to the Index ]
Posted by Phil on Saturday, 3 May 2008, at 11:27 p.m., Hi The Sensors are only rated to be accurate up to 85C, which is 185F. However, they are technically capable of reading up to 127C. (260F) If they go over this value they wrap back to 0, so to prevent this condition messing up your charts, I don't process any temperature that is over 120C... so... strictly speaking, your sensors won't read over 248F Now, I have seen one instance (on a solar collector that did not dump to a thermal load) where the temperature got high enough to take out the 1-wire bus (or so it seemed). It may have caused a short condition which required the WEL to be power cyled to clear the short condition... The temperature exceeded 248F for several minutes. Phil. Responses

This site is all about building a cool, energy efficient house, that makes maximum use of earth sheltered design, passive solar heating and cooling, geothermal exchange energy management, and right sizing of the house for it's designated use. The home's placement is on a south-facing hillside in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This site describes the design process, the technologies used and the expected results. We also have a comprehensive Links Page for anyone who is also interested in designing a similar project. |
